We often take for granted a woman’s ability to grow a human being inside of her. It is a miraculous process that requires an enormous amount of resources be pulled from the mother’s body and given to her baby. Treatment from an acupuncturist throughout pregnancy can help a woman be as healthy, comfortable, and emotionally supported as can be and help her grow and nurture a healthy baby. Under the care of “Tera” Luke Matsuda L.Ac. she will be given acupuncture, herbal medicine consultations, and nutritional recommendations in a calm and healing environment.
Did you know that while a woman is pregnant with a girl that girl is developing all the eggs she will have throughout her lifetime? That means that the health of the mother is directly contributing to the health of her future grandchildren.
The Pregnancy Wellness Care package during a healthy pregnancy includes:
– Weekly treatments for the first 3 weeks after a positive pregnancy test (Weeks 4, 5, and 6 or 5, 6, and 7)
– Treatments every other week through end of the first trimester
– Monthly treatments during the second trimester
– Treatments every other week from week 28 to week 34
– Treatments weekly from week 36 to delivery
Acupuncture treatments during pregnancy are very gentle and supportive.
That is total of 18 treatments that would normally cost $1213, but only costs $800 with the purchase of the Pregnancy Wellness Care package. For high risk pregnancies the package includes more frequent visits and is $1000. The package may be paid for in 3 installments, one third of the total cost will be due at the start of each trimester. Herbal consultations are included but herbal formula prescriptions are not.

The High Risk Pregnancy Wellness Care package for higher risk pregnancy includes: (Prior miscarriage, IVF, twins, over age 40)
– Weekly treatments during the first trimester
– Treatments every three weeks for the second trimester
– Treatments every other week from week 28 to week 34
– Treatments weekly from week 35 to delivery
First trimester pregnancy support:
• Morning sickness, nausea, and vomiting
• Miscarriage prevention if prior loss
• Fatigue or low energy
• Headaches
• Insomnia
• Depression
Second trimester pregnancy support:
• Indigestion, reflux, and heartburn
• Gallbladder dysfunction
• Gestational diabetes
• General aches and pains
• Previous second trimester loss
• Signs of false labor or early labor
Third trimester pregnancy support:
• Common symptoms addressed include any of the second trimester plus
• Carpal tunnel
• Swollen feet, ankles, and legs
• Breech presentation
• Non-productive contractions
• Pre-eclampsia
• Anxiety
• Treatment and support for the fear of the birthing process
• Acupuncture studies show that treatment can help cervical ripening, shorten the first stage of labor, and lower the rate of c-sections.
• Postpartum care is available as well but not included in this package.
Acupuncture care is a complement to normal OB care. It is not meant to be used as a substitution to normal prenatal care by a midwife or obstetrician.
